Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive dementia with loss of neurons and presence of two main factors like extracellular amyloid plague and intravascular neurofibrillary tangles.

Alzheimer’s disease is a type of vata disorder where the vata is severely provoked in the Majja Dhatu (the tissue layer which includes the central nervous system and all other tissues which are contained with bone). This vitiated vata dosha dries and degenerates the brain gradualy and simultaneously the patient will be exhibiting the features of Alzheimer’s disease.
