MODE OF ACTION OF SARVANGA DHANYAMLA DHARA

A specific quantity of Luke warm Dhanyamla (after fermentation) is poured on the affected part of the body in a rhythmic stream. The mode of action of the drug will act soon as the medicine touches the skin surface.

It is understood that the processed Dhanyamla contains properties like light (Laghu), Snighda (Slimy), Teekshana (Pungent), Sheetasparsha, and hot potency (ushna property). Due to these properties, Dhanyamla is having multiple pharmacological actions like anti-inflammatory, analgesics, anti-histamic properties, carminative and digestive properties at cellular level.

The active ingredients of Dhanyamla will be carried through cellular elements and enters circulation along with its pharmacological actions. Because of the constant temperature which is being maintained throughout the process in all areas of the body vasodilatation will happen and as a result of vasodilatation an increased flow of blood through the area will occur, so that the necessary oxygen and nutritional materials are supplied and toxins are eliminated. Because of increased blood supply the metabolism will increase and as a result the output of toxins from the cells are increased.

Dhanyamla therapy produces varying degree of recovery in vascular insufficient joints to which several clinical and functional improvements can be attributed. It also normalizes ESR or erythrocyte sedimentation rate as well as rate of connective tissue breakdown as reflected in lower urinary excretion of hydroxyproline and muco-polysacharrhides. This observation suggests that, this therapy not only produces symptomatic relief, but also controls the disease process and may causes long lasting relief.
