Shalya Tantra: The Surgical Wing of Ayurveda
At Healing Earth, our Ayurvedic Shalya Tantra surgical care center—housed within a dedicated Shalya Tantra department in Ayurvedic hospital—embodies the art and science of Ayurvedic surgery. Specializing in para‑surgical procedures like Ksharasutra therapy for fistula and piles, Agnikarma for pain relief, Jalaukavacharana for wound care, and Raktamokshana for chronic ulcers and vascular issues, our approach blends timeless knowledge from Sushruta Samhita with modern sterilization and patient care protocols. With fully equipped surgical suites, expert clinicians trained in traditional and contemporary methods, and a focus on holistic recovery, we deliver comprehensive ayurvedic surgical care department services for trauma, anorectal disorders, non-healing wounds, and more. Learn more about this advanced clinical offering on our Shalya Tantra Department page, and discover how our healing spaces integrate seamlessly within our broader Facilities. Research highlights that classical Shalya Tantra treatments like Ksharasutra and Agnikarma continue to show high efficacy in managing chronic anorectal disorders and wound healing—reinforcing why traditional surgical care is still relevant today ([turn0search8] an integrative review pointing to evidence-based clinical validity).
Ksharasutra therapy is used for treating fistula-in-ano, pilonidal sinus, and piles. Agnikarma helps manage musculoskeletal disorders, pain, and varicose veins, while Raktamokshana (bloodletting) is effective for skin issues, hypertension, and joint pain. Jalaukavacharana (leech therapy) aids in healing chronic wounds, varicose ulcers, and inflammatory conditions.
Ayurveda offers effective management for piles, fissures, and fistulas through natural therapies. It also provides wound care, abscess drainage, and treatment for sinus, ulcers, and soft tissue swellings. Supportive Ayurvedic protocols aid in faster pre- and post-operative healing
Ayurvedic bone setting involves traditional techniques for aligning fractures and dislocations. Bandhana (splinting and immobilization) is used to support and stabilize the injured area. Herbal lepa (pastes) and internal medicines aid in pain relief and promote bone healing.
