MODE OF ACTION OF SHIRO VASTI
The effectiveness of Shiro Vasti is based on its thermo-pharmacological action and deep neurological influence:
- The scalp comprises five layers (skin, connective tissue, aponeurosis, loose areolar tissue, pericranium), with rich vascularity and nerve supply, making it ideal for transdermal absorption.
- The lipid-based medicated oils penetrate through the phospholipid-rich cell membranes, delivering anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and antioxidant compounds to deeper tissues.
- Maintaining the warmth of the oil induces vasodilation, enhancing local circulation and nutrient delivery while eliminating metabolic waste.
- Oils also impact sensory and motor nerves, including:
- Zygomatico-temporal nerve
- Greater & Lesser occipital nerves
- Auriculotemporal, Supraorbital, and Supratrochlear Nerves
These effects collectively support mental well-being, neurological balance, and psychological clarity.
